Hi Everyone,
I mistakenly thought I had already posted my choices for Jan 2005, but
finally discovered that I had them in a file, but had not sent it. Here
are my choices, and I hope yours will soon follow. We should be having
new members of the work group join us soon, and there may be a
restructuring of the Work Group also.

V, Gale 14 min.
1/25/2005 2:16:22 PM Gale quickly guided a patron who had no good idea
where to find ERIC, to the databases at NOVA (the patron's university
and gave good instructions to get her started.
Pat's Choice for Honorable mention
Christine and Eloyce Lyster 1/6/2005 3:53:54 PM 9 min. Wowed the patron
by using keyword search on google to find a poem using the person's
remembered words from the poem: old violin, auctioneer, worth of a man.
J, Vickie Omar 13 min Helped patron navigate his own web site to renew
books. Shows power of librarian helping person navigate

Deborah determined what the patron wanted and found the exact statute
for her. Because Deborah was having technical problems, she walked the
patron step-by-step through the process so that the patron could find it
on her own. Great teaching and patience. (About as good as a face to
face encounter)

The librarian at Tampa did a great job of helping an SPC college student
access her databases remotely (in New York), helping the student find
out the correct password information. Thanks!

Rose & eruralcaba (56 min) This one was a bit long, but a lot of
teaching took place. Rose instructed a patron who basically knew nothing
about finding articles and taught them how to log on to databases and
search for articles. I know this type of teaching goes on a lot, but it
seemed like Rose made a special effort to help.
Pat's Choice for Honorable Mention
M, Chad and Amy 1/3/2005 2:34:24 PM HM
22 min Great job of nailing specific article on Weil pairing
(cryptology) from NSU without patron having to pay.
Lora David 317 1/11/2005 5:40:51 PM 18 min.
Great communication with patron and hard work trying to find exactly
what patron wanted. Possible HM Detailed.
Nicole R Shelly 1/13/2005 12:25:18 PM HM Lots of attention to detail.
36 min. Stayed with patron all the way to find article from UF by ILL.
