My name is Laurie Hime.  I have been a reference librarian at Miami Dade
College Kendall Campus for 27 years.  I also worked for USF in the rare
books department for five years.  I have been a member of the Ask a
Librarian Quality Assurance Work Group for one year, and have been using
Ask a Librarian for two years.
 
My hobbies are travel and scuba diving.

Hello all, 

My name is Pamela Herring, Pammy for short.  I've been a librarian for
about 3 
years now.  I started out in a small college library, formally Keiser
College 
and now Keiser University, while I was obtaining my masters degree.
Then I 
switched to public.  I currently work for the Osceola Library System in 
Kissimmee, FL.  It*s been an interesting ride.  I work with some really
great 
people who manage to teach me something new every day, and I hope I
return the 
favor.  The clientele keeps me on my toes as well. 

I*ve worked with Ask a Librarian for a year now, and I*ve enjoyed it 
immensely.  Our library staffs 2 hours a week, but I would love to do
more. 
We*re looking into that. 

I enjoy reading (I think this is required, considering our jobs!),
swimming, 
surfing the internet, learning about computers and software, movies, TV,

hanging out with friends and family, and bettering myself in the field
of 
librarianship.  When I retire many years from now I would like to be
known as 
one of those great librarians that knows where to find the answer right
off 
the bat.  I*ve met some of these ladies and gentlemen and I am always in
awe. 

As for putting bios on a webpage, that sounds like a great idea.  Hope
to get 
to know the rest of you!
