Hi Laurie and others,
I just wanted to point out that the name of your college should be added
after your last name's initial rather than after the username. Here are
the instructions copied from the earlier email:
* Log in as usual to get to the Account Administration page (the
same page where you click on Agent Console).
* Click on the "Agents" tab.
* Click on Information to add the name of your library system
right after the initial of your last name.
Example:
Username: TraciA
First Name: Traci
Last Name: A (Palm College) <-- name of
library system in parentheses after last name's initial
* Click on Save.
So your username should still be just your first name & initial, etc.
since the library name is added to the last name field.
Have a good day!

Hi all,
Two things I have discovered while learning how to access the chats:
First thanks to Diana and Cindy for all the info, very useful
indeed, and I "got it" and got in very easily. First I learned that if
you choose to add the name of your college to you original log in name,
you must use the new log in entirely -- ie I once was laurieh but
now I am laurieh miami dade college. I think that is a great way of
identifying who we are to the question posers. Also a neat thing this
software does that the old one did not is allow the transcript readers
to "deselect" librarians' names from the list. In other words, we can
eliminate all the members of the QA commitee, plus Diana and Doug and
that should give us access only to those eligible to be nominated.
I will log in tonight for my second session with the new system, and I
really find it intuitive to use. Hope these little tips help~
Laurie

Subject: RE: [Askalibrarianqa] Back in Touch
Hi all,
Last week was my first week back again from another vacation and it was
the week from hell... six trespasses I had to deal with directly and our
police department arresting one, three Foundation Center training
sessions (two for circ staff and one out in the community which even
included our local sheriff and a city commissioner!), my first AAL
session on the new software, four hours of desk time each day AND I
worked this whole weekend.
I guess the Day of Atonement wasn't enough and now I'm paying for it.
;-)
Anyway, I just tried this out for the first time. I think it's great
that we can narrow it to one date, so I picked a date that I actually
worked (Oct. 14th) and I checked to see how it showed up. It is
different, but like anything else it will just take some getting used
to. It seems to have all the information we need to make our choices.
I see a good amount of people have added their library after the last
initial and that is wonderful too, but we should encourage everyone to
finish this task. I think it is very helpful. Also, I was wondering
if there was a way to expand the list of a particular date to include
more on the list and reduce the amount of pages to turn? We had that
option on Docutek as a drop-down menu (i.e. 10 per page, 50 per page,
etc.)
BTW, I generally read all of the transcripts from my given day but when
it comes to nominating I only nominate those from the Academic or
Collaborative and not those answering from their own local library. My
opinion is that it is like helping someone who comes into your own
library's e-mail box or reference desk and your librarians have the
advantage of having all the information at hand. Though helpful, it is
not exactly the same thing as the "statewide" service. I might make an
exception if I was having a tough time finding something and there was
something outstanding in the local transcripts.

P.S. When searching Reports> Departments > Categories (again select all
departments), you will see a category "Nominate Me for Exemplary
Reference Award" I could not find anything listed under "This Month" but
found two under "Last Week." Does it change? Can people withdraw the
nomination? Or am I doing something wrong?

Hi All,
Transcripts can be accessed under reports> agents> chat transcripts. Do
you consider all sessions or just those from the Academic and
Collaborative Queues - I know I should know this but I can not remember.
Just select all agents, and the time frame you are interested in- unlike
Docutek, its easy to narrow your search down to a specific day.
Also, if you search Reports> Departments > Categories (again select all
departments), you will see a category "Nominate Me for Exemplary
Reference Award" - if you click on the number (when I logged in, it was
7) you can access these sessions.
I do have bad news about Aug/September sessions. We had an unfortunate
incident when we were pulling data from Docutek and we have no
transcripts. Doug is posting the winners from July but we will not
have transcripts.
Thank for all hard work- let me know if you can access everything you
need. I might need to create second accounts for you to see all
transcripts. I am still learning nuances of the reporting section.
Take care,
Diana

Hi Pat glad you are doing better, I have not figured out how to get to
the transcrpts to read, much less how to vote. I did sign up for an
online workshop
next week , but I doubt that info will be covered. Do you have
directions to impart?
Much appreciated,
Laurie

Hi Everyone,
I'm sorry I've been out of touch. I just managed to get over a very
bad cold after battling it for two weeks! Anyhow, I'm okay now and have
been working with the new software still getting used to it.
Has everyone figured out how to find the transcripts for readings? I
think I still have a group from the Aug/Sep nominations and will see if
I can locate those.
Pat
