[delivery-announce] Update on Scanning Implementation

Hello,

As you know, we have been slowly implementing barcode scanning on all delivery bags this year.  The project has hit a few snags, so we recently met with our Delivery vendor, Velocity Express, to figure out how we can perfect and expedite the process.

Here is our status and upcoming plans, based on that meeting:

- Scanning is occurring in libraries in the Fort Myers area. If you are a library in the Fort Myers area and your bags are not being scanned, please contact me immediately. 

- Scanning is occurring in some libraries in the Tampa and Gainesville areas.  We will implement scanning in more libraries over the next few months throughout the state, with a high percentage of implementation by September.

- If you are transporting valuable materials or DVDs and want to secure the Delivery bag, a cheap zip tie through the holes in the upper right-hand side will lock the bag.

As always, to help us maintain our strong service, please immediately report missed stops, delayed items and/or other issues as soon as possible to deliver at tblc.org.
