The local arrangements committee is responsible for the Dinner Groups for Wednesday night, and including an entertainment guide to the Tampa and Tampa Bay area in the conference manual. If anyone would like to help with any of the items listed below please contact me at (813) 622-8252 or email me. Dinner Groups: I need volunteers to contact the restaurants to get dinner menus and to do the reservations for 10. Create a signup sheet include a short paragraph about the restaurant. Attendees signup for the restaurant of their choice starting Tuesday through Wednesday 3:30pm. Wednesday night, you will need to gather those that are signed up for your restaurant, make sure they have directions to the restaurant and that they get into the correct cab. Last year about 130 conference attendees took advantage of the dinner groups. More attendees would of gone if they had more groups. I was hoping to do about 20 groups and maybe repeat a few of the restaurants. We will use color dots with letter code stuck to their name tags for easy ID-ing of who belongs to which group. Note, you do not need to go to the restaurant unless you want to. Test your knowledge: Do you have any trivia about Tampa that you would like to create a Test your knowledge of... If so please contact me. Entertainment guide includes: Getting around Exploring Downtown areas Entertainment and cultural events Shopping BookStores Restaurant guide Any other ideas you have? I have a start on this one with the convention bureau stuff and a book done for the Special Libraries Association conference in June 2000, but if needs to be pulled together and additions included.
