COORDINATOR, LIBRARY TECHNOLOGY

Grant MacEwan College is seeking candidates for the administrative position of Coordinator, Library Technology. Reporting to the Director, Learning and Instructional Services, this position will be a member of the department’s senior management team and will be based at our City Centre Campus Learning Resources Centre.

The successful applicant will provide leadership in the development, planning, and management of library systems and digital applications, resources, and services. Supervising 3 library information technology staff, the incumbent will provide vision and direction around emerging technologies and their integration into the academic library environment. 

Candidates should be energetic, innovative, highly motivated, flexible, and able to manage an environment of frequent change and multiple demands. 

Applicants must have a Master of Library and Information Science from an accredited program plus additional education in the technology area. Demonstrated supervisory and project management experience in managing an integrated library system and/or library technologies, preferably in an academic setting, is required. Working knowledge of learning management systems and web and portal technologies is an asset. 

Key Responsibilities
*	Lead the development of new and innovative projects, services, and initiatives that support the library’s technology needs
*	Work closely with other College departments to coordinate the interoperability and delivery of new and existing digital, web, and portal services
*	Lead the evaluation of the existing integrated library system, including a comparative analysis  to alternative systems
*	Apply user-centered approaches to information technology management
*	Ensure effective operation of the networked integrated library system and technical management of digital collection resources
*	Design and conduct needs assessments and usability testing

Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton is a fast-growing post-secondary institution with over 10,000 FTE students. The College offers a wide array of educational opportunities and credentials on its four campuses, including bachelor degrees, applied degrees, and career diplomas and certificates. 

Salary:   $61,962.00 to $77,453.00 per annum to start
