While various apps may happily coexist on a single server, there are other 
significant issues with this.

You have a single point of failure for x number of services. If the server 
goes down, the screaming gets really loud, really fast.

When you do a major change or reboot, it will affect all services running 
on that box. This severely restricts what you can do and when you can do 
it. I hate making changes at 3am.

I am a big believer in spreading the risk around. Doesn't cost that much 
more and lets me sleep better.

In the spring schools can hardly wait for the kids go home. In the fall 
mothers can hardly wait for kids to go to school. Everyone is always 
counting the days until the kids go somewhere else. And we worry about self 
esteem?
