Yes I believe this can be done, You can also grep I believe to see if the process is running... I'm sure you can search the Dynix logs for Zserver items... Or put in a log to support.

Occasionally that component stops responding while the rest of HIP keeps
chugging away. Does anyone know if there's a way to restart just the zserver
so I don't have to disrupt patron and staff operations to get that state
