Thanks, Sylvia.  I did know that, but the SD resolution also cautioned that this could drastically impact the amount of cpu time per each Ipac search on your Dynix server.  Has that impacted you?  How large is your catalog?

Sorry Dana.  I clicked the Send button too quickly.  Did you know that you can setup Publication Date as the default sort?  That's what we did ... 
 
1st step:  SortDirection -> Descending (newest to oldest)
HIP Admin tool:  Customize tab > Searching sub-tab > Sorts > click one of the Sorts > unmark the Ascending box to sort by descending order > OK > click Customize and Restart JBoss.
 
2nd step: Default Sort
HIP Admin tool: Setup tab > Libraries sub-tab > Edit Library > Library Information > Default Sort > select Sort from drop-down box > OK > click Setup tab and Restart JBoss.

For most current items, use SORT feature.
