[ipac] HIP search server not working?

Jonathan,
When I lose my indexes from the search Tabs, I go to Admin Tools and
check the
Tabs to make sure they still have indexes listed. See: Setup > Edit
Library > Profiles > Tabset, Indexes and User Defined Limits.

Sometimes copying a profile or some simple task will wipe them out, I
just add them back in and bounce HIP and I'm good til the next time.

Subject: [ipac] HIP search server not working?

Thanks for the advice on querrying Sybase vs. querrying the HIP indexes.

But now I have another problem, I'm afraid. We run a test/development
instance of HIP, which I've messed up somehow. Apparently our SD
contract doesn't cover any support for a test instance, so you guys are
my only hope.

At first, I couldn't get any HIP or HIP admin pages to display at all, I

just got an XSL error message. Apparently I corrupted the .gdb database
somehow. SD did suggest this to me, before closing my issue and telling
me I wasn't paying for support for a test instance.

So I made a transportable backup of my production HIP .gdb, and restored

that to my test instance. This did get me a step ahead, now I can access

HIP admin and do get pages returned. However, all of the search boxes
are missing from my HIP pages. This is behavior I associate with not
having a search server running, but my search server IS running (I
started it, I can see the process in the 'ps').

Anyone have any idea what might be going on? Could there be some setting

in the .gdb I copied from production to test, that I need to change for
some reason in test?

Like I say, you guys are my only hope at this point.

Jonathan
