Another thing you can do at the command line in Linux:
$ ps -ef | grep java
You should see the following processes running:
root 17081 1 0 Jul01 ? 01:03:55 java -server -Xms96m
-Xmx96m -cl
asspath
.:./lib/dynix-xsl-proc.jar:./lib/dynix-util.jar:./lib/saxon.jar:/usr/jav

-Djetty.port
=80 -Djetty.admin.port=222 -classpath
/opt/dynix/appserver/jboss/bin/run.jar:/us
r/java/j2sdk1.4.2_17/lib/tools.jar org.jboss.Main -c default INIT
root 17209 17208 0 Jul01 ? 00:01:01 java -classpath
.:../lib/jconn2.
jar:../lib/dynix-hznindexer.jar:../lib/dynix-jhorizon.jar:../lib/dynix-j
dynix.ja
r:../lib/dynix-jgryphon.jar:../lib/dynix-search.jar:../lib/dynix-util.ja
r:../lib
/log4j.jar:../lib/j2ee.jar:../lib/msutil.jar:../lib/mssqlserver.jar:../l
ib/msbas
e.jar com.dynix.hznindexer.HznIndexer -cissettings.conf
Note the last process includes hzindexer which includes the dynamic
indexer. If it is not running, then:
$ /etc/init.d/hzindex start
That should get you going.

Hi Linda,
Run the following SQL query:
select count(*) from word_index_pending.
If the result is higher than zero you need to restart the HIP dynamic
indexer.

Subject: [ipac] Mass indexer not resolving keyword searching for new
items
Hi there,
We just moved to a new HIP server on Monday and everything appeared to
be working fine until today when staff noticed that keyword searches for
items imported this week were not working. We have run the mass
indexer but the searches still do not produce results for new items.
Items in the database prior to Monday seem to work fine through keyword
searching. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where the problem
might lie? Browse searching works fine for all items.
We are running HIP 3.09 on a Linux server.
Thanks in advance for your help.
