Colleagues,
OpenDLS, which powers the Florida Legacy - TBLC Digital Collections
website was updated this morning.
Updates to the presentation/style were made. A number of functional
updates were also made:
* Save/Email records function: You can now select records from
your browse/search results (from either the brief or full view) and
email the file or save it to your computer. The complete records are
sent, which include direct content links and the item PURL.
* The 'Main Guide' pages have been replaced with the 'Browse
Collections' pages. The default display is a list of all collections,
sorted alphabetically by title. A link is also included to view all
collections by contributing library. Each collection title link
continues to go to the collection home page, i.e. the description.
* The Persistent URL (PURL) for individual records, and each
collection, now appear in the Image Viewer, full record view, and the
collection description respectively.
* A number of style/presentation changes were made to accommodate
the latest browsers. Testing was done on the following platform/browser
combinations (which I hope covers most of our users):
* Windows XP: IE7, FF, NN, OP.
* MAC: FF.
* Linux: FF.
* In regards to computer stations available to the public in
member libraries - I'm assuming that the majority are Windows stations
with IE6 or IE7 or FF?
As always - I try to test thoroughly and don't publish an update until I
am very confident but issues/bugs sometimes appear. I depend upon your
feedback. Please report any issues, send any suggestions, and/or
feedback to me on this list or directly to rbernard at lib.usf.edu. Please
also feel free to call me at 813-974-1622.
Thanks
Richard Bernardy
