[Legacy] cataloging question re e-books

Hi Art,
Thanks for your reply. I posted to the Legacy local history list and am
interested in Legacy digital collection with regard to ebooks scanned and
cataloged by the member libraries. We cataloged one and are looking to
compare ours to other libraries. This is Dublin Core metacataloging that I
am looking for, not MARC. I appreciate your response, however.

Hello, Robin.

Go to our catalog UTOPIA.UT.EDU

Click on CATALOG in Resources column at left-center

Designate a CALL NUMBER BROWSE search in the opened window to the right

Type in E-BOOK

Click on any of the numbers along the left-hand margin of the result screen
to see how we did the OPAC presentation

Click on MARC RECORD at the right end of the gray bar to see the catalog
record

We have over 4,000 e-Books; one of these days I need to check on usage
stats. Don't know how valuable these resources have been. Also, if there's
ever a weeding project, it'll be a mess. TBLC has done one or two already
and our Tech Serv folks blew a gasket!

Hi all,

Does anyone have a cataloging example of how they are approaching cataloging
of e-books. We've done one but would like to look at what others are doing.

Also, what are the plans for activating subject heading cross reference
hyperlinks?

I see records without images in others collections. Are those being used as
indexes to refer individuals to archived items in the respective libraries?

Susan Kiley is our USF intern this semester working on Legacy project. She
will be joining this mailing list.

Thank you for your time.

Robin
