Wow, I have never received Volume 1 issue 1 in real time for an e-mail
discussion group.

I am actually not a librarian, but have focused on issues of filtering, as
well as more importantly issues of the safe and responsible use of the
Internet by kids for 10 years. My primary focus is schools.

Judith Klug of the ALA and I testified in the same panel at the COPA hearing
on alternative strategies to filtering. I helped to defeat a proposed law in
Oregon that would have required filtering.

I found out about this e-mail list because your announcement was forwarded
to LM-Net, the school librarians list. So the word is spreading.
