Hello and Happy New Year!

My library serves as the Point Of Presence for the Internet on our
campus. I use PHP in a lot of places. I have built a help desk system
for network problems which uses an MySQL database and PHP3 interface. I
also have username/password lookup information for our Librarians to be
able to give out account information to patrons. My last project
(scheduled to be turned on this week) is an electronic reference
question so that our Distance Ed and satellite campuses can ask
reference questions without long distance phone calls. The questions
are answered by librarians and the patron can later look up the answer.
This is all done with their web browser using PHP. My current PHP
project is an interface to take data from our HRS/SIS central computer
and build SIRSI import files so that we can have a user-friendly
interface when running new patron reports at the beginning of
semesters. I also use PHP for various utilities, including email
address lookup, mailing list interfaces and footers for web pages.

I use Perl for a lot of things, but for web interfaces nothing beats
PHP!
