[TBLC] BiblioCommons goes live

The Oakville Public Library in Ontario has gone live with BiblioCommons.
I have seen it demoed and it essentially provides the opac with very
powerful recommender functionality and makes it the center for social
networking.  It takes the 2.0 technologies that float freely in the
electronic information space and brings them altogether to support
folks' interest in books and subjects.  It actually supports community
building on the web.

take a look around.

 

There is a brief report about the product and Oakville's implementation
