TOWN HALL Series

Tickets for a very special Ringling College Library Association TOWN
HALL lecture on the 30th of September, 2009 featuring one of the most
sought-after speakers in the world, President Bill Clinton, founder of
the William J. Clinton Foundation and 42nd President of the United
States, are on sale now! President Clinton's lecture is in celebration
of the 30th year of the Ringling College Library Association TOWN HALL
Lecture Series, and the 35th anniversary of the Ringling College Library
Association, 

"As one of the preeminent lecture series in the country, we seized the
opportunity to have President Clinton celebrate our 30th year of
bringing superlative speakers to the west coast of Florida," said TOWN
HALL chair Olivia Thomas. The lecture will be held at the Van Wezel
Performing Arts Hall. The program will begin at 7:45 pm. Tickets are
available by calling 941-925-1343. 

William Jefferson Clinton was elected President of the United States in
1992, and again in 1996, the first Democratic president to be awarded a
second term in six decades. Under his leadership, the United States
enjoyed the strongest economy in a generation and the longest economic
expansion in U.S. history. His administration resulted in moving the
nation from record deficits to record surpluses; the creation of over 22
million jobs; low levels of unemployment, poverty and crime; and the
highest homeownership and college enrollment rates in history. After
leaving the White House, President Clinton established the William J.
Clinton Foundation with the mission to strengthen the capacity of people
in the United States and throughout the world to meet the challenges of
global interdependence. 

VISIT SARASOTA
Sarasota, Florida is an eclectic seaside town with an upbeat and artsy

On September 30th, the same day as the Clinton event, venture to South
Sarasota County that morning for a nature walk. Join Al Squires and
Denny Girard for an enjoyable hike on Sleeping Turtles Preserve South
from 9 -11 a.m. Along the way, Al and Denny share their boundless
knowledge of botany, not just identification, but lore of the plants as
well. Take in the 'fall' scenery and information about the natural lands

choose 'Nature Walks' and click 'go'. On the bottom of each nature walk
is an area that states 'Click here for registration.' Space for this
walk is limited to 20. If you are having problems with on-line

and ask for Natural Resources.


On October 1st, the day following President Clinton's speech, stick
around and get a glimse into the upcoming season of the Sarasota Ballet
with the launch of Webb's third season of works by acclaimed
choreographers. "An Invitation to Dance with Sarasota Ballet Artistic
Director, Iain Webb" is being presented at 7PM at the Historic Asolo
Theater at the John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art. Tickets are $25.
