From cparker at tblc.org Thu Aug 30 16:14:28 2007 From: cparker at tblc.org (Charlie Parker) Date: Thu, 30 Aug 2007 16:14:28 -0400 Subject: [ursa-talk] SirsiDynix Has Committed to URSA & TBLC's Ready to Go Message-ID: <69FDF3BECCCBAB41ABBCD23E23585294049FDC0E@EXCHANGE.tblc.local> To TBLC iBorrow & Alleycat Users, I am pleased to inform you that the folks at SirsiDynix have informed us that they are committed to the ongoing development and support of URSA. We are now sufficiently comfortable with the product and SirsiDynix's commitment to advise the libraries that have been waiting for this notification that we are ready to complete staff training, a last round of testing, and bring them up. On July 30 I met with SirsiDynix CEO Gary Rautenstrauch, Chief Technology Officer Talin Bingham, and Vice President for Market Development, Eric Keith in Provo and was informed of this commitment and then received word in writing on August 14. We are also seeing positive signs on the product support side that the company means what it says. We will be directly contacting the libraries that have been waiting since July and are urging SirsiDynix and the ILS vendors whose products do not yet work with URSA to please complete their configuration and testing so that we can migrate the rest of the Alleycat users to iBorrow and add new libraries!
