From Apurva.Mehta at umb.edu Tue Jun 26 13:34:25 2007 From: Apurva.Mehta at umb.edu (Apurva Mehta) Date: Tue, 26 Jun 2007 13:34:25 -0400 Subject: [ursa-talk] The future of URSA ver 3.x Message-ID: Hi - we have started hearing rumors / rumblings that URSA version 3.x will soon be no longer supported. The state of Massachusetts is presently using ver 3.x and is getting concerned that we may reach a point where we no longer have support. I guess my question is - are others also hearing that SirsiDynix may stop supporting URSA 3.x and if so, what are some of the steps you'll are taking? Is upgrading to ver 4.x an option? I just wanted to respond to the recent posting and say that SirsiDynix has not made any decisions to end URSA 2.6's support. As most of you know, we are still focused on implementing URSA 4 at Tampa Bay and will not begin any new installs or migrations until this has been completed. I have had conversations with most of the URSA directors recently and I believe some of them also met with Bill Davison and others at ALA on this same topic.
